Structural Waterproofing 

If the property you own or intend to purchase has any element that is subterranean (i.e. below ground level), then it will be necessary to consider the risks involved and potential remedies if dampness is a problem. It is good to consider the intended use of the Cellar/Basement as this can potentially dramatically alter the advice given.

 

We use the advice given in BS8102:2022 ( Protection of below ground structures against water ingress) to form the basis of our reports as well as a good dose of common sense to ensure that unnecessary works are not recommended.

 

For example, the potential conversion of a Cellar/Basement into habitable accommodation will require a considerably higher specification (and cost) than for a Garage, Workshop or Store area.
